Best Industrial Disributor Companies To Own For 2014

Investors kicked off the trading week on a bearish note as profit taking pressures swept in following the marketsrun-up to all-time-highs last week. The bulls got a whiff of better-than-expected data after ISM nonmanufacturing results came in above last month reading, however, hawkish comments from Dallas Fed official Fisher stole the headlines; Fisher reiterated that markets have become too accustomed to the Fed serving as a ifelineand that scaling back on bond repurchases should be expected.

Our chart to watch for the day is the iShares MSCI Australia ETF which will look to resume its rebound following the latest Reserve Bank of Australia interest rate decision. Analysts are largely expecting for the RBA to cut rates to 2.50% from 2.75% currently, although the commentary after the decision itself may spark a different reaction among traders in the currency market.

Chart AnalysisConsider EWA one-year daily performance chart below. This ETF has staged an encouraging rebound over the past month following its steep correction since it peaked at $28.15 a share in late April of this year. EWA has snapped back higher in recent weeks as bargain shoppers have started to pile into this beat down foreign equity fund; despite the potential for a trend reversal here, it worth noting that EWA remains in a downtrend, and as such, we advise utilizing a tight stop-loss for those eager to jump in long.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Roberto Pedone]

A pharmaceutical player that's starting to trend within range of triggering a big breakout trade is IntelliPharmaCeutics (IPCI), which specializing in the research, development and manufacture of generic controlled-release and targeted-release oral solid dosage drugs. This stock has been on fire over the last three months, with shares up a whopping 99%.

If you take a look at the chart for IntelliPharmaCeutics, you'll notice that this stock has been uptrending a bit over the last few weeks, with shares moving higher from its low f $3.12 to its recent high of $4.37 a share. During that uptrend, shares of IPCI have been making mostly higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. That move has now pushed shares of IPCI within range of triggering a big breakout trade above some key overhead resistance levels.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in IPCI if it manages to break out some near-term overhead resistance levels at $4.37 to $4.62 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 1.31 million shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then IPCI will set up to re-test or possibly take out its 52-week high at $6.46 a share.

Traders can look to buy IPCI off any weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at $3.36 or at its 50-day moving average of $3.13 a share. One could also buy IPCI off strength once it starts to take out those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

That's not always the case. I watched as one well-known blogger on The Street sabotaged Antares Pharma (Nasdaq: ATRS) right after FDA approval for a new rheumatoid arthritis delivery system a few months ago, and it's taken a long time for ATRS to finally recover. A similar thing happened to Sangamo Biosciences (Nasdaq: SGMO), which stopped my subscribers out of the stock. I advised them to buy right back into it, and we currently just exited with a 73.4% return on it.

  • [By Bryan Murphy]

This is NOT a judgment call on the drug. This isn't a judgment call on the company either. This is a judgment call on how emotional and distracted traders can get from time to time, and we only have to look at Antares Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:ATRS), Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:AVNR), and VIVUS, Inc. (NASDAQ:VVUS) to see how drinking the proverbial Kool-Aid ultimately punished anyone who bought rather than sold ATRS, VVUS, and AVNR right when the news seemed to incredibly encouraging.

I hate to be the one to say I told you so, but, I told you so. Back on February 26th I suggested IsoRay, Inc. (NYSEMKT:ISR) shares were a budding breakout play. The 48% rally that's played out for ISR in the meantime unfurled right on cue. While overbought in the very short run, this small cap stock looks like it's earning the right to be compared to the likes of bigger brothers in the cancer-treatment space... names like Roche Holding Ltd. (OTCMKTS:RHHBY) or Theragenics Corporation (NYSE:TGX).
